Roasted hazelnut kernels with the skin partly rubbed away after roasting, loose skin flakes beside them Giresun origin

Product 03 · Processed line

Roasted Hazelnuts

Kernels roasted to the profile you approve in the sample, then repeated batch after batch. Because the crop comes from our own parcels, the starting material does not drift between shipments.

What roasting at origin buys you

Heat applied to a defined profile before the product ships removes a process step and, more importantly, removes a variable. The roast becomes a specification item you can hold a supplier to, rather than something your line has to reproduce identically every shift. For buyers without dedicated roasting capacity — or with capacity they would rather use elsewhere — this is usually the cheaper route to a consistent product.

Advantages worth pricing in

  • Batch-to-batch consistency. Light, medium or dark specified in the contract, produced to the same profile each time.
  • No roasting capex or yield loss on your side. The weight loss and the energy cost sit at origin.
  • Flavour developed on a single-origin crop. Roast character depends on the kernel as much as the oven; one origin and one season keeps it stable — see why Giresun.
  • Ready for direct use. Snack packs, inclusions, toppings and enrobing lines can take it as delivered.

Buyer notes

Roasted kernels have more exposed surface than raw, so the practical shelf life is shorter and the pack format does more work — vacuum is the sensible default for anything that will be held rather than used, and the packaging and container loading guide covers the rest. State the roast level in the contract, not in an email, and agree whether calibre is measured before or after roasting; the calibre and grading guide explains why that sentence prevents disputes.

Still deciding between roasting here or in your own plant? Our guide to hazelnut forms sets out the trade-off, and raw kernels are the alternative if you want the roast curve to stay yours.

FAQ

Questions about this product.

Do we choose the roast level?

Yes. Specify light, medium or dark. We recommend putting the roast level in the contract rather than in an email, so it becomes a specification item rather than a process variable.

Is calibre measured before or after roasting?

State which applies in the contract. On any product that has had heat applied, the missing version of that sentence is the most common cause of a size dispute.

How should roasted kernels be stored?

Cool and dry, in the original packaging. A roasted kernel has more exposed surface than a raw one, so we recommend vacuum packing for any lot that will not go straight into production.
